Samauma – Our First Successful Installation

Overview

In February 2025, the Digital Inclusion Module (DIM) team deployed its first unit in Samauma, a remote indigenous village deep within the Amazon rainforest. This milestone marked the beginning of our mission to empower underserved communities with reliable electricity and high-speed internet—one village at a time.

Community Background

Samauma is home to roughly 50 families who have long faced isolation due to a lack of technological infrastructure. Prior to DIM’s arrival, the village had no stable internet access and relied on gas-powered generators that were expensive, polluting, and only operated during limited hours. This made education, healthcare, and economic development extremely difficult.

Implementation

We delivered and installed:

  • 1 Bluetti EB70 solar power system

  • 1 PV120 monocrystalline solar panel (120W max output)

  • Starlink satellite internet terminal

Our team conducted:

  • Hands-on training workshops on setup and maintenance

  • Digital literacy support for residents and students

  • Community-wide Wi-Fi access with a 150 Mbps Starlink connection

Setup was completed in under 2 hours with the help of local residents.

Impact

  • Education access: Students can now access digital learning platforms.

  • Healthcare: Telemedicine is now possible, reducing emergency travel times.

  • Entrepreneurship: Artisans are beginning to explore selling crafts online.

  • Community empowerment: Residents now manage and maintain the system locally.

Ongoing Support

We continue to provide:

  • Remote technical monitoring (internet uptime, power usage, etc.)

  • WhatsApp support for troubleshooting

  • Scheduled check-ins every 3 months

What’s Next

Samauma serves as our pilot site and a blueprint for scaling. The insights gained here help us improve DIM’s design, logistics, and training—ensuring every future community receives an even more refined experience.
